Surgery & Specialized Care You Can Trust
When your pet needs surgery or advanced medical care, you deserve a team that’s thorough, transparent, and experienced. At Legacy Veterinary Hospital, every procedure begins with careful assessment and a clear conversation about what to expect, so you feel confident in the plan before we move forward.
Surgical Services at Legacy
Our surgical capabilities cover a broad range of needs, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft-tissue, abdominal, and urinary procedures. Every surgery is supported by a thorough preoperative assessment, individualized anesthesia planning, and attentive monitoring throughout.
We also provide evaluation and surgical management of select breed-related conditions, including brachycephalic airway syndrome (BOAS) in appropriate candidates. For large, deep-chested breeds at risk of gastric dilatation-volvulus (bloat), we offer preventive gastropexy following a thoughtful discussion of benefits, risks, and timing. When internal masses or tumors are identified, we approach surgical options with an emphasis on patient safety, diagnostic clarity, and collaborative decision-making with you about next steps.
After surgery, we provide detailed post-operative care instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your pet’s recovery. If your pet’s needs go beyond what we offer in-house, we’ll coordinate referral to a specialist and stay involved in the conversation so you always know where things stand.
Beyond the Operating Room
Legacy also provides medical services that support your pet’s long-term health and comfort. Our internal medicine services include diagnosis and ongoing management of chronic conditions like diabetes, thyroid disease, kidney disease, allergies, and gastrointestinal disorders.
For pets experiencing pain, limited mobility, or recovering from surgery or injury, we offer cold laser therapy. This non-invasive treatment reduces inflammation, supports healing, and improves comfort. We also provide comprehensive wound management, including laser-assisted healing for hot spots, lick granulomas, surgical wounds, and acute soft tissue injuries.
